" Mon stage à l'Académie a été une expérience inoubliable. Au début j'ai eu un peu le sentiment d'être un imposteur, sachant que ma préparation n'était pas à la hauteur, mais j'étais tellement émue par le respect montré aux musiciens de tous niveaux et par l'encouragement donné à leurs efforts que j'ai vite cessé de m'inquiéter de tout ça. Les professeurs sont formidables, et j'étais très heureuse d'avoir pu bénéficier pendant 10 jours d'une instruction si intense et si pointue. Rarement ai-je appris autant en si peu de temps. Je te suis très reconnaissante d'avoir su garder l'esprit et surveiller les exigences quotidiennes de cette unique institution.

Many of the members of the "Académie Musicale Internationale Barbara Krakauer" had the pleasure of attending a piano recital, in La Roque d'Anthéron. It was set in a beautiful outdoor environment with the stage surrounded by trees and a little pond. The program including Twelve Variations on "Ah vous dirais je Maman" by Mozart, and Sonata n°3 in A minor, opus 28, and Six pieces from Romeo and Juliette, opus 75, by Prokofiev. The performer showed obvious technical ease as well as a refined sensitivity to the subtle and nuances of the music. For me, it was truly a learning experience in the careful attention to detail while playing these pieces as well as the physical efficiency in generating the sound wanted.At this stage in my musical education, exposure to such high quality concerts is necessary to gain further insights into performance and interpretation. Going to this suggested excursion was truly beneficial to all of us in expanding our education and continuing to develop ourselves as the next generation of artists.

"The Barbara Krakauer Academy takes place in the breathtaking Provence region of France. I was attracted to the course because of the amazing faculty, and I saw that people came from all over the world. The standard was mixed, from amateurs to professional musicians, and students from music conservatoires which was a new experience for me. There was a great group atmosphere. In the morning, there was usually practise time, lessons or rehearsals. Then, after lunch there was a siesta when everyone would take a break from practising and either have a rest, go into the local village, or swim in the river nearby. After more playing time in the afternoon, there would be a lecture, a masterclass or a concert. A great thing about the course is that you could learn with anyone; you just had to ask, and they'd make time for you. I wanted to develop my playing both technically and musically and I wanted to have a new experience that would inspire me. I fell I did that and developed as a person."
